When the tooth suffers discolouration

Endodontic whitening

The tooth can suffer discolouration for different reasons

Discolouration of a single tooth due to caries or previous dental trauma. The discolouration starts from inside the tooth.

The whitening treatment used is called internal or non-vital whitening. The endodontist will place the bleaching agents inside the tooth once it has been confirmed that the existing endodontic treatment is adequate. When there are doubts about the quality of the previous root canal treatment, an Endodontic Retreatment should be performed before starting the Internal Whitening procedure.

Discolouration of all teeth in general.

  • Physiologically with the patient’s age
  • Pathologically due to the patient’s intake of medication or habits.

The treatment model used is Vital Whitening or External Whitening. There are multiple whitening options and each patient needs an individual protocol as their whitening option. The more skilled and trained your dentist is in this discipline, the whiter your teeth will be and the more stable your new colouring will be. For this reason, we recommend that you consult experts in this discipline.
