Part of Dentistry

Endodontics is not a technique but a field of dentistry. Within it we can find the following treatments:

Vital tooth therapy:
aimed at preserving and regenerating the pulp.

Conventional root canal treatment has two clinical phases in its procedure:

  1. Cleaning and shaping of the root canal
  2. Filling and sealing of the root canal.

Once the treatment is completed, you must call your Dentist who will inform you of the different alternatives available for the definitive restoration of your dental crown.

Escaner de piezas dentales

Aimed at preserving a tooth that has already undergone a first root canal treatment but for various reasons has developed a new infection.

Sometimes the tooth does not heal.

This can happen for several reasons:

a) Non-healing due to the main canal being blocked

  1. Narrow and curved canals not permeabilised at the first attempt.
  2. Complex internal anatomy complicating the location of all canals.

b) Non-healing due to recurrent caries or recurrent leakage after a first root canal treatment

  1. Crown or restoration not performed in time due to causing contamination of the canal filling
  2. New caries exposing the filling material causing a new infection inside the canal
Clinical Procedure for Root Canal Retreatment

The clinical procedure of root canal retreatment includes a first clinical phase of initial removal of the filling material from the root canal. Sometimes, it also requires the dismantling of the existing restoration, i.e. removal of crowns, pins and any restorations that interfere with access to the root canal.

The second clinical phase of retreatment is the re-cleaning, disinfection and shaping of the root canal for re-filling.

Once the new filling is completed, you will need to return to the general dentist for the new restoration of the tooth.

Mainly dedicated to the retreatment of canals through a surgical approach.

It is a surgical procedure performed under the microscope.

The diagnosis and treatment of periapical surgery using the Operative Microscope allows for more precise diagnostic and treatment results that are far superior to traditional periapical surgery.

The use of Microsurgical Techniques in Endodontics allows Minimally Invasive treatments, making tissue recovery easier, more favourable, more aesthetic and more predictable.
